JULY FAMILY NEWS
June 26, 2008 — Congratulations to Katie Taylor and Scott Gann who were recently married.

Robin Young continues to recover from his recent surgery for knee replacement. He has finished his physical therary and he is looking forward to once again being able to play golf, hopefully in September.

Continue to keep Trey and Debbie Woolhouse in your prayers. Trey was diagnosed this week with colon cancer and will have surgery to remove the tumor.

Robin and Madelyn Young celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past weekend (July 18-20) in Mountain View, Arkansas. Several of the family members were able to attend and they had 43 people to help them celebrate. They had a celebration with cake, etc. on Friday and then attended a show where they were recognized as celebrating 50 years together. Saturday they visited the Blanchard Springs Caverns and had some family time with the children and grandchildren. Congratulations, Robin and Madelyn. (View Pictures)

Sarah Young was recently in the Children's Theater in Vicksburg, MS. She played a puppy in the Fairy Tale presentation.

MADELYN YOUNG ATTENDS WRITER'S CONFERENCE
June 8, 2008 — Madelyn Young attended the Arkansas Writer's Conference in Little Rock, Arkansas this past weekend. Seven members of their Village Writer's Club attended the conference and they received 5 awards. Madelyn won 2 awards - 1st Honorable Mention for her mystery/suspense story and 2nd Place Grand Conference Award/Fiction Contest. For her second place award she received $60.00. Congratulations, Madelyn.

RECENT FAMILY NEWS
June 5, 2008 — Paul, Camie, Jordan, Katherine, and Emily Young are getting settled in their new home in Madison, MS. Their new address is 111 Fawn Lane, Madison, MS 39110. Their telephone numbers stayed the same.

Emmette Walker, in Texas, has started his chemo again. He had stopped in April to give his body some recovery time from the chemo but the tumor continued to grow so he had to start back again. He faces some difficult days ahead. Continue to keep Emmette and Melanie in your thoughts and prayers.

Trey Woolhouse spent several days in the North Mississippi Medical Center last week. He is now at home and on the road to recovery.

Robin Young is scheduled for knee replacement surgery on Tuesday, June 10. Robin and Madelyn have postponed their trip overseas that was scheduled in July. We wish him the best in his recovery.

Congratulations to Chris Summers and Kelly Richey on their recent marriage.

MARRIAGES IN MAY AND JUNE
Christopher Troy Summers, son of Walt and Ginger Summers, and Kelly Marie Richey will be married on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the home of Jon David and Carmen Sullivan in Mooreville, Mississippi.

Katie Melia Taylor, daughter of Walt and Ginger Summers, and William Scott Gann will be married on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Mt. Vernon Place in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Congratulations to these two couples. We wish them all the best.

TRIPS TO CANADA AND LOUISANA
May 6, 2008 — Paul and Laura Young have returned from their trip to the Canadian Rockies, April 10 - April 25; and from their church mission trip to Baldwin, Louisiana, April 27 - May 2, to work with UMCOR (United Methodist Commission On Relief.) Pictures: 1 | 2 | 3

SHARON ROUMEN COMPLETES HALF-MARATHON
April 28, 2008 — Sharon Roumen (daughter of Robin and Madelyn Young) ran her second half-marathon (13.1 miles) in Nashville on April 26th. She ran it in 2 hours and 22 seconds- a new "personal best" time for her. Congratulations, Sharon!

UPDATE FROM THE FAMILY IN TEXAS
April 12, 2008 — We wrote about Odell Walker in a news post last year. Odell is the son of Inez Young Walker and the grandson of Sam and Cora Young. Odell has been battling cancer from cysts found in his leg. He has had a long, difficult journey, and is now receiving therapy for progressive nerve damage caused by surgery to the leg and the cancer. This therapy is very expensive, and is addition to the chemotherapy he continues to receive. Please keep Odell and his family in your prayers.
