Jessie Darwyn Young Family Genealogy GENERATION 4 John
Young was born ca. 1671 in Ballygown, County Antrim, Northern
Ireland. He died. ca.1747 in Virginia. He Married Annie Houston before 1695 in
County Antrim, Northern Ireland. She was born ca. 1670 probably in Northern
Ireland and died unknown. (2) Some
History on John Young and Annie Houston: John and other family
members continued to run the family linen manufacturing business in County
Antrim, Northern Ireland for several years. At some point John immigrated to
Virginia with some of his adult sons. It is not clear at this point if his wife
immigrated to Virginia with him or if she died before he immigrated. When John
died in 1747 his brother James was made the administrator of his estate.
John's son Robert inherited his 234 acres and then passed the farm down to his
son, John. Robert forcibly and violently took John’s property from the sheriff
after his death. He was unhappy with how his estate was being settled. Annie
Houston was from the same family as Texas' Sam Houston. (2) Children of John Young and Annie Houston are:
