Andrew Lamont Young was born ca.1646 in Toward castle, Kyles of Bute, Argyleshire, Scotland. He died date unknown. He married Mary Adair ca. 1670 in County Antrim, Sally St. Clair, Northern Ireland. Mary's date of birth and death is unknown. (2)

Some history on Andrew Lamont Young and Mary Adair: Andrew and his brother, John Sitlington ran an agricultural and linen manufacturing business four miles west of Larne for many years. The family never returned to Scotland. Mary was a descendent of Adair's of Kinhilt, Galloway, Scotland. (2)

Children of Andrew Lamont Young and Mary Adair are:

1. John Young: b. ca. 1671 in Ballygown, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. He d. ca.1747 in Virginia.

2. James C. Young: b. ca. 1673 in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. He d. ca. 1748 in Virginia.

Note: Andrew and Mary probably had more the two children. According to Carmony Church records in County Antrim individuals with the Young surname and near the age of John were James, Robert, Matthew, Charles and William.
