Samuel Fletcher Young was born 5 January 1840 in Marion County, Alabama. He died 26 October 1908 In Lee County Mississippi. He married Sabra Catherine Terrell 12 July 1860 in Alabama. She was born17 May 1843 in Alabama. She died 10 July 1910 in Lee County, Mississippi. Both are buried in Springhill Cemetery in Lee County Mississippi. (2)

Some history on Samuel Fletcher Young: It is believed that Samuel and family moved to Lee County, Mississippi around 1875. He was first found in the Mississippi census data in Lee County in 1880. He was listed in the Sanford County, Alabama census data in 1870.

Samuel F. Young enlisted as a private for 21/2 years in Company G of the 16th Alabama Infantry CSA on 10 May 1862 At Corinth, Mississippi. During one of the battles in which he was engaged, Samuel was hit in the center of his forehead by a spent minnie ball. The ball did not break the skin but it left a depression in the center of his forehead that marked him for life. He always wore a white beard. (3)
